As someone who unashamedly owns a Lego ice cube tray, I was excited to learn that the Scottish Design Awards have invited five leading local architectural firms to conceptualise homes made out of the humble Lego brick.

I quite like GM+AD’s modernist design, inspired by Mondrian’s primary-colour cubes and striking angular design. Even though the award-winning firm has impressive designs to its name, it’s nice to know GM+AD also has a good sense of humour.
