Unique Bamboo Bench by Gal Ben-Arav
Israel Ben-Gal Arav designers have designed a bench using raw materials of bamboo and cast aluminum. This bench is made as a final project at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. Bamboo Factory is updated very quickly, therefore energetically efficient, with excellent mechanical strength and durability to weather conditions. Bamboo has a variety of configurations as a natural raw materials, through the plate is compressed to veneer processing. This chair uses of bamboo raw materials. In this way, the processing is minimal and the energy invested, and 100% recyclable.
Bamboo bench has two narratives:
Inspiration for the bench lies in images taken from the 30′s, with two leading workers through a bundle of papyrus swamp. This photo was personally connected me to the bench and led me to the morphology of wild designs.
The second narrative is the narrative of the life cycle of products. Rather bamboo species characteristic of the Middle East, but its origins are in Asia, but bamboo can grow in a controlled fashion in Israel.
